Support for Parents & Carers
“Supporting a child that is neurodivergent or who has experienced trauma can be incredibly challenging and lonely. Joining Maaike's monthly webinars – which educate parents/carers on child developmental theories – has been invaluable for us in better understanding how we can support our son. It's also given us the chance to meet other parents who are navigating similar challenges and share our experiences in a safe and supportive environment. ”
I support parents and carers to provide stable, secure and loving relationships with children who are struggling with a range of social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
This includes parenting courses, 1:1 consultancy and support groups.
I am a Parent-Child Attachment Play Practitioner and I have completed my Level One in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
Parenting Pathways to Connection
Through these support groups, I hope to reduce the overwhelm and isolation experienced by many parents and carers supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Online Support-Group
In this welcoming 1.5- hour online group, we explore children’s behaviours through the lens of needs — what those behaviours might be communicating, and how we can respond in ways that build connection rather than disconnection.
Walk & Talk Group (Dartington)
Each month we have an in-person walking group to build support and connection with other parents and carers. These start and end at The Green Table on Dartington Hall Estate. The walk will be steady without need for high levels of fitness but it does cover uneven ground and steep gradients.

1:1 Parent Support & Consultation
My therapy approach not only supports children but also involves parents and caregivers and other professionals, helping to strengthen family bonds and improve communication, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health. As such, I offer online and in-person support for parents, carers and professionals to explore barriers to forming positive relationships with their young people.
